February 14, 2011 - Dialogic Inc. a leading provider of communications technologies that power advanced networks, today announced that Aircel, a leading mobile operator in India, has selected the Dialogic® VisionTM 1000 Video Gateway as the Aircel 3G video calling platform. The implementation of the advanced video services is part of the bigger 3G deployment being undertaken by Nokia Siemens Networks for Aircel to offer advanced mobile broadband speed and high-quality services.

"We are looking forward to deploying our 3G network and using the Dialogic video gateways and media platforms in our network," said Mallikarjun Rao, CTO, Aircel.

"The Vision 1000 Video Gateway is our choice for the Indian market given its flexibility in terms of both a scalable video gateway and a multimedia server, and the fact that it features real-time any-to-any video transcoding and rate adaptation on demand. "Additionally, completion of a voice call on a video phone is possible with the Vision 1000 gateways even when the receiver of the call does not have a video phone. This is important, as most of the subscribers in India are still in the transition phase toward using video-enabled phones."
